surgery & diagnostics
Surgery: We have a full service surgical suite for routine and elective procedures. Such as spays and neuters, declaws, wound and laceration repair, tumor/mass removal, and abdominal surgeries. We preform pre-anesthetic panels on all patients to ensure their safety while undergoing surgery. While anesthetized, our patients are maintained on intravenous fluids to support their blood pressure and allow for quick access to the veins in case of emergency. Vital signs (heart rate and rhythm, breathing rate, blood pressure, and oxygenation) are carefully monitored by a technician before, during and after each procedure.
What to Expect: At Happy Tails Animal Hospital, we understand how stressful bringing your pet in for surgery can be. That's why we strive to make each and every procedure as stress-free as possible for both our patients and their loving owners. On the morning of surgery, a technician will record all necessary information for you and your pet, answer any questions or concerns you may have, and obtain an emergency contact number so that we may keep you informed of your pet's progress during their stay with us. To reduce surgical complications, we recommend that you do not feed your pet after midnight the night before, and do not give any medications that morning unless instructed by your veterinarian. Always remember to inform the staff of any supplements, vitamins, or other over-the-counter products your pet is receiving.
Diagnostics: We have an in-house laboratory in conjunction with specialized diagnostic laboratories, where we can perform a variety of diagnostics.
